Here's what's in store for you in our 6th season...Tune into RNN-TV on Sunday evenings at 8pm for more Inspiration and Information.
(Cablevision & Comcast Ch. 19 and Direct TV 62 / 894)

Meet Sister Gloria Perez, the Director of Eva's Village, a non-profit social service agency in Paterson dedicated to feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless and providing medical care to the poor. This amazing volunteer-based organization focuses on respecting the human dignity of each individual, as they serve hot sit-down lunches 365 days a year.

Highly respected psychiatrist, Dr. Richard Roukema, talks with us about his gracefully written memoir, Spouse of the House, sharing an inside look into his twenty-two (sometimes challenging) years as the spouse of the independent-thinking Congresswoman, Marge Roukema who represented her NJ district in the nation's Capital during the tumultuous Reagan, Bush and Clinton presidencies.

Widowed dad, Tony King, and his daughter, Caitlin, learned important life lessons on his journey one day to get cupcakes for her birthday party at school. This less than wonderful experience is the inspiration behind the children's book, The Little Cupcakes, which celebrates differences and embraces diversity.

We catch up with Taylor Price whose life changed suddenly after a tragic swimming accident paralyzed him. Now a freshman at Georgetown University, Taylor talks about living alone, attending classes, speaking on Capitol Hill and once again shows us his ability to continue living life to the fullest!

Academy Award and Emmy Award winner, Maryann De Leo, talks about her Oscar experience and shares powerful stories uncovered in the making of HBO Documentary "Chernobyl Heart" and Lifetime's "Terror At Home."

The Blond goes to Clown School with Shirley "Doodles" Cottrell and learns how Call-Us-Clowns are making a positive difference for both children and adults. These talented volunteers give the gift of laughter and therapeutic healing to those in need of a smile.

President of Ridgewood Moving Services, Cindy Myer, is a woman working in a man's world. After the death of her husband, she took over the company in his honor and learned how to "move forward."

Miguel Pagliere might not call himself courageous, but his peers would, as he has broken an iconic stereotype. Meet Miguel as he tells us about his unique career choice and how he has been finding fulfillment for 30 years teaching in a Kindergarten classroom.

In honor of National Autism Awareness month, the Blond will feature a 2-part focus on Autism. With the diagnosis of autism increasing to as much as 1 out of 160 individuals, "If you don't know someone with Autism... you will," learned Joanne. Blond in the Hood takes an up-close look at some local families affected by autism and speaks with several organizations that help those affected lead rich and full lives.

Guest interviews feature: a pediatrician with over 30 years experience who has been consistently recognized as a Top Doctor by NJ Magazine (2001-2005), Dr. David M. Namerow, Founder of Pediatricare Associates, discusses important inroads made with early detection and early treatment.

Linda Fiddle who established The Daniel J. Fiddle Foundation (www.djfiddlefoundation.org) after the loss of her nine year old son affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder, to provide grants to programs that enrich the lives of adolescents and adults with ASD and honor individuality as well as inclusion in the community.

Jennifer Hoppe (left) and Lisa Parles, co-founders of Quest Autism Foundation (www.questautismfoundation.org) are dedicated to "Encouraging Independence and Enriching Lives" by providing recreational, occupational and residential opportunities that offer self-fulfillment and compassion.

International best-selling author, Harlan Coben, will share his latest and greatest book being released in April, Promise Me. Believe it or not, "Myron Bolitar" is back after six years! The Blond finds out what else he's got in store for his fans.

Discover the best kept secret in Bergen County – The Village School, a not-for-profit Montessori school in Waldwick, NJ. Back in 1977, Marilyn Larkin (pictured at left, with two of her students, Annalise and Erin Rose, and our own Joanne), a single mom in search of alternative education for her son, founded a Montessori pre-school with just 19 students in the basement of Old Paramus Church in Ridgewood. Now coming up on its 30th anniversary, the school currently enrolls 294 students with programs ranging from Toddler to Middle School. Find out why it's such a special place to learn and the secret to its success. For more information or to make a donation, visit www.thevillageschool.net.
